I’m saddened to report that yesterday news broke of Howard Stern Show regular and radio personality, Riley Martin’s passing. Mr. Martin was a frequent guest of the Stern Show, having claimed he was an alien abductee and had a vast knowledge or interstellar subjects. The concept (as well as his book, The Coming of Tan), garnered him his own show on Stern’s secondary SiriusXM channel, Howard 101.
Mr. Martin was the very first podcast guest on the 19th episode of The Swimcast back in February of 2008. For me, despite my technical issues (and the idea of getting a better microphone), it was memorable as it was my/our first podcast interview ever. We had heard via Howard 100 News that Riley Martin had been tapped to do some voice over work for the [adult swim] hit show, Squidbillies. While the episode in question had little to do with Squidbillies or Swim, it was a rather interesting yet awkward romp through Mr. Martin’s career, dealing with the “culture” of the alien race who abducted him.
